Madagascar is home to some of the worldโs most unique and unusual mammals. Lemurs, found only on this island, come in many shapes and sizes, from the tiny mouse lemur to the large indri. The fossa, Madagascarโs top predator, looks like a mix between a cat and a mongoose.
Other strange mammals include the aye-aye, which has an elongated finger to extract insects from trees, and tenrecs, which resemble hedgehogs but are more closely related to elephants. Madagascarโs biodiversity is truly one of a kind.
