Types of Cells Explained

Cells are the basic building blocks of life, and they come in many shapes and sizes, each with a unique function. The two main types of cells are prokaryotic and eukaryotic. Prokaryotic cells, found in bacteria and archaea, lack a nucleus, while eukaryotic cells, found in plants, animals, and fungi, contain a nucleus where the genetic material is stored.

Within eukaryotic cells, there are specialized cells, such as muscle cells, nerve cells, and red blood cells. Each type of cell performs specific functions that contribute to the survival and health of the organism. Understanding these cells is fundamental in fields like biology, medicine, and genetics.
