The Gods of the Roman Empire

Roman mythology was deeply intertwined with religion and state affairs. Jupiter, the king of the gods, ruled over the skies, while Juno, his queen, protected women and marriage. Mars, the god of war, was a central figure in Rome’s military successes.

Other important deities included Mercury, the swift messenger god, and Minerva, the goddess of wisdom and strategy. Temples and grand festivals honored these gods, who were believed to influence every aspect of Roman life, from battle victories to daily rituals.
