Nature’s Built-In Weapons

Many animals use horns, tusks, and antlers for defense, dominance, and survival. Rhinos rely on their massive horns for protection, while elephants use their long tusks to dig, fight, and lift objects. Deer and moose grow impressive antlers, which they shed and regrow each year.

Other horned and tusked animals include narwhals, whose long spiraled tusks serve as sensory tools, and bison, which use their curved horns in head-to-head battles. These natural weapons help animals survive in the wild.
