Rankings
Hi, I'm just wondering why I can't get my ranking at the moment. It just says fatal error and not enough bytes so will it be possible for me to fix this?
Thanks a lot to computer-savvy people who may help me :0)

I got the same message when I tried tulip. It may be because I've added so many games recently. Steve may have to increase the memory for that section. I'm sure he'll deal with this when he sees your question.
Then again, I know my PC doesn't have much memory, so it could be that too.

The problem here is that the script was exceeding the server memory limits. This would have only been affecting those who play in the arcade a lot and so require more memory to import and process their larger data files. The combination of their large data files and the increased number of games that are processed was causing the script to exceed the memory limits of the server.
For now I have increased the server memory limits to allow this function to carry on working. However, as we continue to add more games and those who play in the arcade a lot continue to increase the size of their data files it is likely this will happen again in the future. At that point, I will scrap this function as you can't just keep allocating more and more memory to a poorly written script that is eating up all the server resources.
Out of interest does anyone actually use this rankings function to scroll through the whole list of 4,000+ games to see their individual standings or do you just look at the summary box in the top right corner which shows how many top places you have? Because another solution rather than scrapping it all together is I could re-write the code so it just shows the summary information in the top box and does not have to pull all the data from every game. This should make the page load faster and reduce the load on the server when this script is run.

I never scroll through the list and hardly use the feature, as it takes forever to load the page. ( I do play a bit!) For those that do, I think a summary is the perfect solution!
