Looks like I baffled you all with this one.

Here is the complete answer:

The journey was around the globe. The mans head was 6ft from the ground so the radius of the circle travelled by the head is 6ft greater than the radius of the circle travelled by his feet.

Therefore the difference in the circumference of the 2 circles is 2 (pi) x 6 = 36ft.
